Open roles

Applications reviewed on a rolling basis

You'll own the backend intelligence of Bordrs: the systems that read a person's documents, ground themselves in Canadian immigration law, and prepare a file a licensed consultant can review and sign.

What we're looking for
  • You've built and maintained LLM-powered features in production, including retrieval, structured extraction, or evaluation.
  • You care about accuracy and know how to improve it through good retrieval, clear citations, and testing.
  • You're comfortable working with TypeScript or Python and Postgres. Experience with pgvector is helpful, but not required.
  • Experience with OCR, document extraction, or validation is a plus.
  • You can take a feature from an early idea through to production and work closely with a small team.
What you'll work on
  • Improve how Bordrs assesses immigration pathways, flags possible risks, and identifies missing information.
  • Build search and retrieval tools based on Canadian immigration law and government guidance.
  • Turn uploaded documents into structured information and clear applicant checklists.
  • Generate draft government forms for review by licensed immigration professionals.
  • Build tests and evaluations that keep these systems reliable as models and requirements change.

We keep this role open year-round. It's for students, new grads, and self-taught developers who want hands-on experience building a real product. Show us something you've made and tell us what you enjoyed working on.

Who this is for
  • Students, co-op candidates, new graduates, and self-taught developers.
  • People who have built something they can talk us through, whether it's a project, app, experiment, or open-source contribution.
  • People interested in AI products, web development, or product design.
  • Someone who asks good questions, learns quickly, and is comfortable taking responsibility for a clearly defined piece of work.
What you'll work on
  • Features that help applicants understand and prepare for the Canadian immigration process.
  • Internal tools that help our team manage information, review applications, and work more efficiently.
  • Testing, debugging, and improving parts of the product that already exist.
  • A project suited to your skills and interests, with support from the team and the opportunity to ship it to production.

Flexible terms are available: 4, 8, or 12 months, including part-time arrangements around classes.
