Who we are
Bordrs is a service of Bordrs Labs Inc., a company based in Toronto, Canada. Bordrs helps people prepare Canadian immigration files. It is a preparation tool. Legal advice is available on the Counsel tier, delivered with licensed immigration professionals.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to help you prepare a file:
- Information you give us. Answers you enter in the Pathway Finder, profile details such as work history and education, and documents you choose to upload.
- Account information. Your email address and the sign in details you use to return to your file.
- Basic usage information. Standard technical data such as the pages you visit and the device you use, so we can keep the service working and secure.
You choose what to share. You can use the Pathway Finder without creating an account, and you decide which documents, if any, to upload.
Why we use it
- To run the tools you ask for, such as checking your fit and organizing your documents.
- To save your progress so you can return to your file.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
- To contact you about your file when you ask us to.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your file to advertise to you.
Where your data is stored (data residency)
Bordrs runs on third party infrastructure providers. We aim to keep personal information you enter on infrastructure located in Canada where that is practical. Some providers may process limited technical data outside Canada.
The exact providers, regions, and any cross border processing are being confirmed as part of the counsel review of this page, and the final version will name them plainly. Until then, treat this section as a statement of intent rather than a guarantee.
Your rights under PIPEDA
In Canada, the handling of personal information by private sector organizations is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, known as PIPEDA, along with provincial laws where they apply. Under PIPEDA you generally have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits.
- Ask us to delete your file when you no longer need it.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your information has been mishandled.

How long we keep it
We keep your file for as long as your account is active, or as long as you need it to prepare and submit your application. When you delete your file, or ask us to, we remove it, except where we are required to keep a limited record for legal reasons.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the service:
- With the infrastructure providers that host and secure the platform, under agreements that limit how they may use it.
- With a licensed immigration professional when you choose a service that involves one, so they can help with your file.
- Where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request.
How we protect it
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No online service can promise perfect security, so we also ask you to keep your account details private.
Children
Bordrs is intended for adults preparing their own or their family's files. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service and the law change. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let account holders know.
